About Us

Faith, Respect, Family Values, Academic Excellence

St. Francis de Sales Regional Catholic School is a private elementary school in Herkimer, NY. We have a long, rich tradition of educating children according to the Catholic philosophy of education. This philosophy is based on a value system that respects each individual as a unique gift of God.

Our school focuses on offering academic excellence in an environment that emphasizes values, respect, faith and discipline. With this constant commitment to the children and their families since 1921, St. Francis de Sales Regional Catholic School has nurtured an excellent reputation throughout Herkimer County and the surrounding communities.

Being the only Catholic school in Herkimer County, St. Francis has become a regional school welcoming families of all area Catholic parishes, as well as non-Catholic families who appreciate an academic experience comprised of the Christian philosophy of respect and family values.

Administration

Our St. Francis Church is honored with Rev. Mark Cunningham as pastor. He joined our St. Francis family in 2000 after 24 years of teaching high school English.

The school principal, Sr. Rosalie Kelley, has presided over St. Francis de Sales since 1974 when she was sent here by the Sisters of St. Joseph. She has watched the school flourish with over 1,000+ children passing in and out of the doors. Sr. Rosalie represents that committed longevity in her enthusiasm during a dodgeball game and in her devotion to the school.
